Also I think the same, in the branch of the dyer ladies are unkind but good something must happen in their lives so they have that deal, for now if they are a little rude
Ah ok: v
Your not a true el pasoan if u don't like chicos
It depends on the schedule, if you talk at lunch or dinner time it is always full.
Something simple and tasty
👎not worth it
Like 3 dls for regular or 6 dls for a double. They only take cash. It's super cheep to eat there.
Well I love it but if they know there r people on line n have orders to go well get to cooks one for orders to go n one for the line
Ive known about this place for years and barely got to eat their food this week. The sauce they put their flautas/taquitos/tacos in is super yummy, like a spicy tomato soup. But I definitely prefer it on the side, rather than together since it makes the flautas soggy.
Went here because a few people said it was a “must” in El Paso. They only take cash😬. Had the famous taquitos plate. Not bad, about average. Maybe too many hyped it up. Was average food
It's not as good as it used to be. I think they changed the type of cheese they use and how they make the sauce.
Been going here ever since I was a child. The food is the best you can get and only here in El Chuco. The green salsa is to die for. Puro Chico Tacos on Dyer
Not the same Chico's Tacos, but still hits the spot on occasions. You may want to take extra precaution when it comes to social distancing in there. Their ruler seems to be off and the 6 feet spacing does seem to be 6 ft.
I have waited for years to come back to El Paso to eat at Chico's Tacos.... it doesn't disappoint! Will be stopping by before I leave!
Great food for a marginal price. Taste delicious and all the bad critics keep your mouth shut about how disgusting it is. No room for fake reviews.
I have loved this place since I was a kid. But lately the tacos haven't at all been good. The meat inside was dry and overcooked. The ladies taking the order never seems too happy to work there. You can greet them and they won't even greet you back. I know this is just a little restaurant serving fast food but they lack customer service skills. It was pretty clean. Except for people who leave all their left over trash and plates on the table . But that's lack of etiquette of some people who eat there not everyone leaves their mess behind . People clean up after yourselves that's why there's a trashcan, if not at least be nice enough to leave a good tip for the man that cleans up after you.
I like this Chico's it's the food and people and booths you expect. During the day you will find a seat and by midnight you will not. If you go you go for the novelty of being at a Chico's. The people the language and the atmosphere is different. 3 singles, 2 fries, 1 regular cheeseburger and 2 drinks for 17 and change.
Not the same original recipe... smaller tacos. But tasty.
Might have just been the best take out of my life.
Prepare for a full time out for yourself
If I could give it zero stars I would.. i dont know who are writing these reviews on here.. The food is garbage, cold fries cheese could not even melt, (I guess how could it with al the white powdery stuff on the cheese)rolled tacos, has no flavor with a watery red sauce , the beef inside them is nothing but a hamburger chopped up.. the jumbo burger I order was cold and again had no flavor, the beef taste like it was frozen , not even fresh beef at least.. Please don’t waste your time with this over hype restaurant. Only thing seem fresh was the veggies on the burger
Alright, yea whatever. It’s good food. #fries and queso y salsa 💃
Chicos tacos in my opinion has the best tacos in the area, they are fairly priced and delicious. However I do believe the service and the cleanliness of the place could've been better. The bathrooms were dirty and not all of the tables were clean, the staff were not the most welcoming but of course this varys by location. Overall I love the food here it is great and I will be returning.
I use to go their and eat many many years ago and I have never forgotten how delicious and unique these Taco's are, I must have been about 17 years old when I first tried them and I am over 60 now, I wonder what ever happened to a special friend I met in El paso, brings back memories, just want to say hello to hurly if you still out there
Cannot go wrong with this place.I can honestly say that everything on the menu is good. From a bean burrito to the famous rolled tacos. The original place for the famous rolled tacos drowned in a spicy tomato sauce, topped with cheddar cheese. Many places have copied the idea and have fallen short of the taste. Definitely recommend this iconic El Paso TX jewel!
The tradition continues, need to have our tacos.
I haven't gone to this place in a long time. I actually went there with someone else who wanted to get something from there and change her mind and went somewhere else. Chico's doesn't do anything for me anymore. Their menu's don't make any sense to me. That's all I have to say!
EXCELLENT!!! my first time there and LOVED it! Will definitely go again before I leave El Paso.
Love the place. Just off the beaten path.Fiod was delicious and the workers were very friendly. Hoped to get a shirt but they were all out. Next time I'm here I'll try to get one. Keep up the good work and many blessings to you.
Mmmmm that caldito sauce for the rolled tacos is super good
In my experience this location is the BEST,by far!!! Soooo good! I've been going to this location for 20+ years. Stop in, you won't regret it! 😁😁😁 The staff is wonderful too!
My All Time Favorite Joint.!
Still love them tacos they keep clean
If you're in El Paso you have to go to Chico's Tacos! They have been covered by Food Network and praised by famous chef Aaron Sanchez for their famous tacos referred to by the locals as "water tacos". To those who have not been introduced to Chico's, their tacos would be compared to a flauta and smothered in a red sauce and cheese, they are amazing and not spicy yet flavorful.
Mmm mm mmmm
God I missed being home and enjoying some Chico’s.
Have to have this every time I come home. Happy memories 😁
I must say I first came here shy of 20 yrs ago and didn't care that much for it. Came here with my family (their first time) and they absolutely loved it. I must admit, it was really good this time around.
I've been a fan of Chico's Taco's since I was very young. Today was the first day my daughter and I went to enjoy some Chico's Taco's, but we were kind of disappointed. Reason is we waited 45 minutes for our order and the food was cold. The employee's weren't organized on calling out the oders, in other words all the orders weren't in order they were calling out the orders randomly. The cooks should be more organized, I did notice one of the cooks was making an effort on preparing the orders, the gentleman that was suppose to be cleaning the tables after each customer would finish eating and leave he didn't he was just talking to the security officer. We thought the tables were suppose to be clean before the other customers would seat down. I even had to clean my own table. Maybe next time we go it will be more organized. 🤔😕
Excellent food! Super tasty, fast, plus you help local business! Try their Jumbo Hot dogs, their French fries and of course, get yourself a single or double. You know you want Chico's. You want Chico's! Get Chico's! Get Chico's NOW 😠 EL PASO STRONG! 😊 😇
What to say about Chicos... Well one of my earliest memories is of my Uncle BEYBO bringing us some home.. I am 35 years old and Chicos tacos has been in my life for all those years. It's tradition in my family that is now branching off too my children. Any family I have that has left El Paso and moved elsewhere in the US will always take a lot of the tacos, the sauce ,and the chili with them when they come visit and head back home. I'm talking like 200 dollars worth. There's nowhere else like it in America. I have seen others try to duplicate it and be calling them tacos ahogados which means drowned tacos, but they can never get it right. There's only one Chicos I just want to know why it hasn't gone international or at least inter state. We need more locations maybe in Las Cruces would be nice.
A true El Paso treasure! There's no better comfort food. I always enjoy.
Awesomeness! U can really drink a taco, it's so yummy! Grilled cheese sandwich was crispy & delicious. Fries are a must to dip into the tacos cheesesauce! The green sauce has a touch of a kick, makes it incredible! Bean & cheese burrito was standard, the tacos are what u go for muy deliciouso!
An El Paso staple, it is good if you are familiar with the area or visit frequently visit but something that is hard to grasp for outsiders. The tacos soaked in sauce with plenty of cheese won't win a health food award but make a damn fine meal.
Best in The West, Shaaow 🤙🤘👅💯💚
Went at noon rush hour. But there was no rush. Single file waiting line for ordering was properly spaced . Alternate booth seating. Takeout patrons seated adjoining booths. Fair Covid protocol overall. Tacos now seen be larger and actually fit the newer styrofoam boats. Caldo was excellent. New cheese a stark improvement. About 4 dine in tables were occupied.
Usually a great place for a guilty pleasure meal. I drove into town and headed straight for Chico's, it had been a while, maybe they were preparing for the Saturday night rush but their tacos were crunchy but seemed like they were fried earlier, the broth was lukewarm at best it didn't even melt the cheese and the green sauce was bland and not spicy. Maybe just an off night .
Good food but sometimes the food is not hot and they don't answer the phone
This place is great! :) Been here 3 times now! love the rolled tacos and the fries. I love going there. Now that I have a baby (11 month old) well sometimes when we go out and eat I like to change the baby’s diaper before we leave any restaurant, andddd they DONT have a changing table in the restroom. It sucked. But other than that the food and service was great! I will return but now I know to change my baby’s diaper in the car 🤷🏻♀️
This El Paso original is everything you've been told. These aren't "normal" tacos, more like Taquitos (the rolled up flauta style) smothered in a warm runny tomato sauce served with cheese and salsa verde. Don't worry about the runniness of the sauce, it thickens up when you add in all that cheese which then becomes nice, melty and then add in the salsa verde for some acidity and spice! Boom! I enjoy it now that I have grown into it and know it's not as great if you don't like green sauce (why you in El Paso?) or the cheese so your experience may vary but I am satisfied and eat it every now and then so it's a unique tasty experience when I do.Bonus: Get fries, then when you finish the tacos smother the fries with the left over sauce and cheese.
Chico's on dyer was great ... I asked for extra ketchup and lady was amazing ...did not even complain of giving me extra..thank u best customer service...better than location on east side!
Their tacos are unlike any other. I got the double and it was really good. The sauce smothered rolled tacos are a great idea and very tasty. The you don't come here for the nice environment. It's for the food.
Visiting from California and this was our first visit to Chicos tacos. I have to say they were not my favorite. I am biased because roll tacos in California are different but I was not a fan of the runny, tomato sauce. Didn't have a lot of flavor for my taste, I do like my food spicy. I liked the green salsa offered on the side which made my food okay. My friends are El Paso native and they LOVE this place 🤷🏽♀️
I still miss the old cheese. It's still good but my visits have dropped and I don't tell traveling folks anymore to go eat at chicos.
Loved, loved, loved the tacos! Especially, now with the different cheese.
Tacos taste awful. I tasted the ones at Eastside and they are the same. Tacos soggy, cheese had no taste. These tacos have really gotten bad these past few years. The hamburgers are what I enjoy the most. Wish the tacos tasted as good as when I was a kid.
A friend of mine took me there and I thought I was in for a treat. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I really don't understand the hype for this place given this is Texas and there are probably so many other better places to eat. It was literally slop on a plate I ate it to be polite but it was hard to choke down to be honest. I don't understand the hype for this place.
